openEASE

The research centre EASE aims at connecting to, and cooperating with an open and global research community to accelerate research progress in the implementation of the EASE research agenda. The EASE efforts dedicated to the end, run under the label openEASE. openEASE employs the following mechanisms:

  • openEASE cloud-based knowledge service
  • open source software: EASE provides key software components for the cognition-enabled control of robotic agents.
  • citizen science: everybody can contribute to the EASE research project by performing research task such as generating experimental data and annotating and collecting research data using web-based research tools.
  • laboratory without walls: we are happy to host researchers who want to contribute to the EASE research agenda and cooperate with our researches on our open source software tools. EASE aims at establishing cooperations with research projects and institutes that produce synergies with the EASE research agenda that support the cooperation and exchange of knowledge.
  • reproducible experiments: EASE researchers will make (subsets of) experiments available as reproducible experiments. By this, we mean that all the data of experiments are made available and annotated with a meta language that allows researchers to¬†interactively analyze experiments beyond the experimental data published in papers.
  • open teaching & training: EASE will develop and host web-based courses on concepts of Everyday Activities Science and Engineering and cognition-enabled robotics.
  • open data: EASE will share benchmark data sets as, for example the TUM kitchen data set with the research community.
  • EASE will create and monitor a resource page on Everyday Activities Science and Engineering that collects and organize web links to relevant books, research publications, research projects, software, etc.
